The Cleveland Indians are on an incredible run of form, and will hope to pick up more wins this week. First, they host the struggling Detroit Tigers at Progressive Field, before welcoming a Kansas City Royals side who are still chasing a Wild Card place at the weekend. The form the Indians are in though, makes it hard to back against them.
The Houston Astros suffered four defeats against the Oakland Athletics, three of them by big margins, 11:1, 11:4 and 10:2. The Astros need to get back to winning ways quickly but face a tough trip to the Wild Card chasing Los Angeles Angels before hosting the Seattle Mariners at the weekend.
The Boston Red Sox remain third in the American League, after enjoying four wins from their last five games. They host an improving Oakland Athletics side at Fenway Park, who are on a run of five successive wins, before travelling to the Tampa Bay Rays later in the week.
The LA Dodgers season has stalled big time after losing their last ten games in a row. They stay top of the National League and will want to pick up wins against the lowly San Francisco Giants before travelling to the Washington Nationals for top-of-the-table weekend clashes. Prior to the big weekend games, the Nationals host the Atlanta Braves who have won four of their last five games.
The Chicago Cubs are clinging on to the last National League Play Off place, but have suffered three defeats on the bounce. They now face two teams in form, hosting the New York Mets, before welcoming the St Louis Cardinals.
The Cleveland Indians are the obvious team to back this week following the run they are on, and they can pick up more wins, especially against a Detroit Tigers side who have lost their last two fixtures.
Four wins against the Houston Astros has helped the Oakland Athletics move up in the American League. Although they face a tough trip to the Boston Red Sox, they arrive having scored 32 in their last three games and could pull off a surprise at a decent 8/5 from William Hill.

With the contrasting form the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers are currently in, it seems a good time for the Nationals to meet the Dodgers and it’s worth backing a Washington win over the weekend.
