  • 29-year-old WBA title holder Groves has lost three of 30 bouts in his eventful ten-year career, all world title fights on the biggest of stages. Despite coming out on the losing side twice against Carl Froch and once to Badou Jack, the Londoner’s career seems to have taken an upturn in fortune since switching trainers to Shane McGuigan. He fought twice last year, securing KO and TKO victories against Jamie Cox and Fedor Chudinov respectively, and will be desperate to get the job done in Manchester.
  • Eubank, the IBO belt holder, has one loss on his record in 27 fights, a crushing points loss to hard-hitting WBO World middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders in 2015. Most recently, the outspoken and brash 28-year-old orthodox fighter secured TKO, UD and KO victories over Renold Quinlan, Arthur Abraham and Avni Yildirim last year, and believes his time has come to take that step-up against a world title fighter.’s View

Groves has spoken in the media this week about how he expects to dominate the fight, knocking his domestic rival out within eight rounds. The Hammersmith-born bruiser is clearly confident that his pre-fight camp has gone well enough to ensure victory over the son of legendary Chris Eubank Sr, and is 13/2 with William Hill to secure victory by unanimous decision. Elsewhere, Ladbrokes have priced the fight at 10/3 to end in rounds nine to 12, and the longer the fight goes on, Groves should grow in confidence.

Eubank is similarly confident of getting the job done against Groves, stating his self-belief in walking away winner within the 12 rounds. He’s 7/4 with Coral to secure victory by KO, TKO or Disqualification, and 7/1 with BetVictor in the Round 7-9 Round Group Betting. Not only will the WBA and IBO titles be on the line inside the ropes on Saturday evening, but the winner will also reach the World Super Series final, giving them the chance to receive prize money and the Muhammad Ali Trophy.

Given Groves’ past experiences on the biggest stages against Froch and Jack, it could be The Saint who just edges the bout to reach the World Boxing Super Series final against Callum Smith or Jurgen Brahmer in May.’s Top Tip
