There’s another action-packed weekend of rugby league action ahead, as Super League hits Round 13. Leaders Castleford take on Huddersfield, St Helens travel to Warrington and Catalans host Leeds Rhinos, but who will prevail? Sports.net previews the big games and provides the latest Super League betting odds.

How the Bookies See it:

  • Huddersfield v Castleford: Castleford 3/10, Huddersfield 5/2, Draw 20/1 - Ladbrokes
  • Warrington v St Helens: Warrington 5/6, St Helens evens, Draw 16/1 - BetVictor
  • Catalans v Leeds: Catalans 8/13, Leeds 11/8, Draw 18/1 - Sky Bet

Form

Huddersfield Giants caused one of the upsets of the season when they came away from Headingley with a convincing 31-12 victory over high-flying Leeds last week, bringing an end to a winless run that stretched back to the 24th February. Castleford Tigers remain top of Super League, despite recent defeats to St Helens and Hull FC. However, they put this dip behind them last Saturday when they destroyed Wigan 54-4, with eight different players notching up tries.

Warrington Wolves’ five-match unbeaten run was halted by Hull FC last Friday, with the Wire limping back along the M62 having found themselves on the wrong end of a 34-10 scoreline. The Cheshire side’s prospects are still a lot rosier than they were just a few weeks ago, having started the season with six straight defeats. St Helens have won three and lost three of their last six and that inconsistency tells the tale of their season. An impressive win over Cas in Round 10 was followed by defeat to lowly Widnes the following week, underlining how frustrating it is for Saints fans right now.

Catalans Dragons are another side that are struggling to put together decent form for any sustained period of time. Wins against Leigh, Huddersfield and Salford have been followed up by defeats to Wigan and Wakefield in the last two games and it is becoming obvious the Stade Gilbert Brutus is not the fortress it once was. Leeds Rhinos lost ground on Cas at the top of the table after last week’s shock reverse to Huddersfield, but this season is still a massive improvement on last term for the West Yorkshire side. Warrington are the only other side to have taken points from Rhinos is the last eight matches.

Sports.net’s View

Giants will take heart from last week’s win over Leeds but, in Cas, they face Super League’s top try and goal scorers this time around. Tigers winger Greg Eden tops the individual try charts with 14 so far for the year, two ahead of teammate Greg Minikin in second. You can find 4/7 from Sky Bet on each to touch down at any time, with both returning 7/1 in the first tryscorer market.

Warrington v St Helens is too close to call, with the outcome very much depending on which St Helens turns up. Defeat to Hull last week stopped Warrington in their tracks, but they had begun to recapture the form of recent years and a stake at 11/10 with William Hill on them to win with a handicap of two is worth consideration.

Perpignan has traditionally been a tough place to visit, but Catalans have lost three of their last four home games and will not be looking forward to welcoming a Leeds Rhinos side desperate to make amends for last week’s blip. Bet365’s 15/8 on an away win is decent, but it may also be worth taking 13/5 from BetVictor on Leeds to be winning at both half time and full time.

  • Sports.net’s Top TIp: Leeds/Leeds for Half Time/ Full Time at 13/5 with BetVictor
