Previous MotoGP Argentina Results
Last year’s title runner-up, Andrea Dovizioso, failed to win any of the final six races of the season, but got off to the perfect start with victory in Qatar two weeks ago. His record in Argentina isn’t the best, having only produced one good result, placing second in 2015, and he only finished sixth last year. If he can produce a similar ride to the one in Qatar, there’s a lot of value in the 10/3 odds on him winning.
Current World Champion, Marc Márquez, has won this race twice since Argentina returned to the MotoGP calendar in 2014. He won the race that year, and did so again in 2016. However, he failed to finish in 2015 and 2017, and was down in eighteenth place last year. He was in dominant form throughout last season, though, and started the 2019 campaign as runner-up in Qatar. Odds place him as the one to beat and he starts as the 21/25 favourite.
Maverick Viñales had to settle for a fourth-place finish in the title race last year and could only manage a seventh-place finish at Qatar two weeks ago. He won in Argentina in 2017 on only his third attempt, but was down in fifth place last year. He will go off as the 10/1 fifth-favourite.
Álex Rins finished 2018 in very good form, not finishing outside the top six of any of the final seven races, and won the last race of the season in Valencia. He got 2019 off to a similar start, finishing fourth in Qatar, so at odds of 14/1, he is a good outside pick.
Top Betting Tips for MotoGP Argentina 2019
Cal Crutchlow won in Argentina last year, after finishing in third place twice before that. His 2019 season got off to a good start when he finished third in the opening race, so the 14/1 odds on him to win in Argentina again are well worth a look.
Looking further ahead, taking the second spot on the podium in Qatar hasn’t dented the odds of Marc Márquez emerging as the eventual winner of the MotoGP championship 2019. He is still priced at 1/2, but failure to land a win in Argentina might see those odds start to drift a bit.
