Previous MotoGP Spain Results
Marc Marquez was successful at the Circuito de Jerez last year in front of his home crowd; another win on the way to a third successive World Title. However, that success was his first Gran Premio Red Bull de España win since 2014, and he has claimed two runners-up spots too. He has made the podium every year since 2013, so expect another big ride.
In fact, Spanish riders have dominated over recent years at this race, with only Valentino Rossi wrestling the title away from the Spaniards in 2016. It goes to show how competitive this race is, as four different riders have won it over the last six years, including Dani Pedrosa twice and Jorge Lorenzo.
Despite currently leading the World Standings, this track is not a happy hunting ground for Andrea Dovizioso. His best placed finishes have been fifth, which he achieved in 2012 and 2017. Can he bring his current form into this race and make the podium for the first time?
Valentino Rossi has enjoyed a solid start to the season with two runners-up places in the last two races in Argentina and the USA. He sits second in the World Standings and will be keen to challenge the Spaniards to keep up his good start to the campaign.
Alex Rins, another home favourite at Circuito de Jerez, won in Texas three weeks ago to continue his excellent set of results that date back to a good finish last year. Roared on by the home crowd, he could produce another winning performance.
Top Betting Tips for MotoGP Spain 2019
Valentino Rossi has been in good form recently and has won at this track in the past, so is worth backing at odds of 7/1. Alex Rins is one of the form riders at the moment too, so in front of a home crowd and with good preparation, he can make the podium at least, and looks another tempting bet at odds of 15/2.
