The 2017 MotoGP season continues in Spain, as Circuito de Jerez hosts the fourth instalment of the title race on Sunday 7th May. Always a colourful event, the Spanish Grand Prix will no doubt draw huge crowds again from across the country and the rest of the world, as fans flock to watch the best riders on the planet do battle.

The current Gran Premio Red Bull de España market leaders are both returning to home soil, as Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Maverick Vinales and reigning champion Marc Marquez look to continue their positive starts to the season.

How the Bookies See it

  • Race Winner: Vinales 11/8, Marquez 2/1, Rossi 9/4, Pedrosa 18/1 – Sky Bet

Having won the first two races of the campaign in Qatar and Argentina, Maverick Vinales was on the verge of a hat trick in Austin, Texas at the Grand Prix of Americas, but was unable to complete the race. Currently sitting second in the title race, he is now back in his homeland and is hopeful of another win or podium finish at least.

Reigning champion Marc Marquez, who is going for title number six in 2017, picked up his first win of the season at the Grand Prix of Americas, finishing the race in comfortable fashion. Surprisingly, it was Marquez’s first time on the podium this year, after taking fourth place in Qatar and failing to finish in Argentina. That win will boost the rider and his Repsol Honda Team, and another big show is expected from the Spaniard.

The nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi, who is competing in his 22nd World Championship season in 2017, has enjoyed three podium finishes already this season. Having finished third in Qatar and runner-up in both Argentina and America, the Italian legend will be hoping to go one better and land that first win in Spain. His impressive consistency so far means that he currently leads the championship by six points, so a win will leave his main rivals trailing even further behind.'s View

Two wins from the first three races has left Maverick Vinales as a strong favourite for the title and he is just about the market leader for the Spanish GP. However, Valentino Rossi could spoil the party in Spain and improve on his last three podium finishes with a win. That will no doubt upset the home faithful, who will be looking for big performances from Vinales and Marquez, but Rossi has started the season with a consistency that can’t be underestimated. Added to the fact he won this race last year, it makes him very difficult to oppose.

Dani Pedrosa is another Spaniard who will be itching for a big ride on home turf. He achieved his first podium finish last time out in Texas, coming in third, and his Repsol Honda Team seem confident that they have made further strides with improving his bike. He is currently a tempting 18/1 price to land the race, but looks to be an excellent each-way bet if you are seeking out added value.

•’s Top Tip – Dani Pedrosa to win at 18/1 with Sky Bet (go each way).
