Premier League Preview: Chelsea v Arsenal Betting Tips

London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal will lock horns on Saturday lunchtime in another titanic tussle at the top of the Premier League table. Neither side managed to win in midweek, but Chelsea still extended their advantage over the chasing pack and the rest of the top six will be hoping for a favour from Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

How the Bookies See it

  • Winner: Chelsea 21/20, Draw 13/5, Arsenal 11/4 - Betfred
  • First Goalscorer: Diego Costa (CHE) 17/5, Eden Hazard (CHE) 6/1, Olivier Giroud (ARS) 6/1 - BetVictor
  • Correct Score: Draw 1-1 6/1, Chelsea 1-0 8/1, Chelsea 2-1 17/2 - Bet365

  • Chelsea played out an entertaining 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday to consolidate their position as leaders. They had previously beaten Hull City 2-0 and Leicester City 3-0, and go into the clash with Arsenal nine points clear of their nearest rivals after winning 15 of their last 17 Premier League games.
  • Arsenal suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat at home to Watford on Tuesday to slip further behind Chelsea. They had needed a stoppage-time winner from Alexis Sanchez to beat Burnley in their previous Premier League match, but were impressive in a 5-0 FA Cup demolition of Southampton.
  • Arsenal easily beat Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium earlier this season, but their record against the Blues for the past few years has otherwise been poor and they have lost four league games in a row at Stamford Bridge since a 5-3 victory in 2011.’s View

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte declared himself pleased with a point against Liverpool despite Diego Costa’s missed penalty, and will feel the title could be within touching distance if his team beat Arsenal. Chelsea have the look of champions about them, with everyone pulling their weight in a settled side, and are understandable favourites at a roughly even price with most bookies.

They will be wary of a response from Arsenal, though, after a desperately disappointing performance from the Gunners against Watford. Arsene Wenger is under a lot of pressure and, with trips to Liverpool and Tottenham still to come this season, the suspicion that Arsenal’s title challenge is already over will only grow if they lose on Saturday.

With so much at stake, a tight match could be on the cards. There have been nine straight matches between the sides since both teams scored, and Boylesports has odds of 23/20 that the pattern will continue and at least one team will fail to find the back of the net. BetVictor’s price of 13/5 on a draw also looks worth a punt, as Chelsea would probably settle for a second straight point against one of their main rivals and a battling draw would just about keep Arsenal’s hopes alive.

•’s top tip: Chelsea and Arsenal to draw - 13/5 at BetVictor
