Team Bath v Celtic Dragons - Two defeats in the space of four days have left Team Bath’s hopes of securing a place in this season’s semi-finals in tatters. The Somerset side started their Easter Monday game with league leaders Loughborough Lightning in sluggish style, trailing 24-15 by the end of the second quarter. A spirited fightback never really materialised as the girls in blue were beaten in what turned out to be a low-scoring affair. Bath must now pick themselves up and hope that Saturday’s game with bottom of the table Celtic Dragons provides a more positive result. Given the Welsh side have only notched up one win in ten, this should be an easy three points for the home team.
- Top Tip: Team Bath to win - 1/6
Manchester Thunder v Loughborough Lightning - A meeting between two of the Superleague’s top three teams could produce a real spectacle as Thunder meet Lightning. Thunder, who are unbeaten since Round Two, have racked up eight straight victories and currently find themselves sitting pretty in third following a high-scoring win over Sirens on Monday. Lightning are the only team who can boast a longer winning run as they are yet to lose this campaign. The ladies from Leicestershire handed last year’s Grand Finalists a whipping in Round One, but Thunder have since found a rich vein of form and could take some stopping, especially on home soil.
- Top Tip: Manchester Thunder to win - 5/4
Team Northumbria v Hertfordshire Mavericks - The Mavericks picked up a couple of much needed wins in rounds eight and nine, but defeat to Wasps on Easter Monday served a massive hammer blow to their hopes of replicating the 2016 season when they reached the semi-finals. However, should the Hatfield-based side pick up three points against a beleaguered Team Northumbria team this weekend and other results go their way, the dream of breaking into the top four might still be a reality for Robyn Broughton’s girls.
- Top Tip: Hertfordshire Mavericks to win - 1/3
Wasps Netball v Sirens - Following their monumental win over reigning champions Surrey Storm in Round Eight, Sirens’ players and fans must have found themselves dreaming of a top four spot. However, recent defeats to Celtic Dragons and Manchester Thunder look to have all but extinguished any hopes the Superleague's sole Scottish representatives had of challenging the best teams in the division. Wasps, on the other hand, are flying high in second, 12 points clear of their upcoming opponents and looking comfortable as the teams enter the second half of the season. The team from Coventry picked up a 57-43 win over the Sirens in the opening round of fixtures, a scoreline that could well be repeated this Sunday.
- Top Tip: Wasps to win - 1/20
Severn Stars v Surrey Storm (Live on Sky Sports) - Easter Monday saw the defending champions pick up their first win in three as Storm ran out 65-56 winners over Team Northumbria. Despite their recent poor form, the girls from Guildford remain the division’s top scorers, but their goal difference did take a hit in rounds seven to nine. This Monday will see Storm aim to continue down the road to recovery with a win over Severn Stars, a team whose campaign is all but over, even at this stage in proceedings. Expect the visiting supporters to be sent home smiling after this encounter.
- Top Tip: Surrey Storm to win - 1/4
