Team Northumbria v Team Bath - With just four games of the regular season remaining, Team Bath will be desperate to pick up all the points they can in their pursuit of a place in this year’s semi-finals. The Somerset side capitalised on Surrey Storm’s latest slip up as they inflicted a 55-53 defeat on second-placed Wasps. All three points will be imperative again this weekend as the team in blue aim to keep pace with the reigning Superleague champions, a task that shouldn’t be beyond the capabilities of Anna Stembridge’s girls who should have too much for a Team Northumbria outfit with only pride to play for.
- Top Tip: Team Bath to win - 1/3
Celtic Dragons v Surrey Storm - A sixth defeat of the season left the Surrey Storm players looking nervously over their shoulders as their top-four status was once again called into question. The defending champions must return to winning ways quickly or risk missing out on being able to capture a third title in three years. The girls from Guildford will be thankful that the Round 15 fixture list pits them against Celtic Dragons, a team who have won just once all season. A comfortable victory should be on the cards for Storm.
- Top Tip: Surrey Storm to win - 1/9
Sirens v Severn Stars - The odds may not be in their favour, but Sirens still have an outside chance of crashing the division’s top four before the end of the current season. Scotland’s sole representatives would need to pick up maximum points and rely on other results going in their favour, an outcome that’s possible, but not likely. The reality may be that the Glasgow-based side will be out to impress ahead of next season’s campaign, and a game against Severn Stars could give them the chance to do just that. The women from Worcester have struggled for form in their first full campaign and could be the victims of a Sirens slaughtering, despite recording a 54-45 win in the reverse fixture in Round 6.
- Top Tip: Sirens to win - 2/5
Manchester Thunder v Wasps - With both teams all but guaranteed a place in the Superleague semis, this meeting could go one of two ways. Both sides might decide to take it easy, safe in the knowledge that, between them, they currently occupy two of the coveted top four spots. Alternatively, fans at the Thunderdome could be treated to an electrifying game as the two teams aim to gain a psychological advantage ahead of a possible meeting in the latter stages of this year’s competition. Whatever happens, expect a tight game that could go either way.
- Top Tip: Manchester Thunder to win - 11/10
Loughborough Lightning v Hertfordshire Mavericks - Round 14 saw Loughborough Lightning pick up their 13th win of the campaign as they dealt a real hammer blow to the top four hopes of Superleague rivals Surrey Storm in what turned into a commanding away performance from the division’s leaders. The team from Leicestershire, who are now guaranteed a place in the semi-finals, will be eyeing a 14th win of the season against Hertfordshire Mavericks as they look to sure up top spot. Lightning should have few problems taking care of business this Monday and could run up a big score against a Mavericks team who have been criminally inconsistent this year.
- Top Tip: Loughborough Lightning to win (with -12.5 handicap) - 5/6
