Team Bath v Team Northumbria - Following a narrow loss to Superleague leaders Surrey Storm, Team Bath will be hoping to bounce back in the opening game of Round Six. The Somerset side require plenty of wins if they are to keep up the pressure on the division’s top sides and their upcoming game with Team Northumbria should provide the perfect tonic. If Eboni Beckford-Chambers can keep the away team’s low-scoring strike force at bay, the girls in blue could run riot at the opposite end.
- Top Tip: Team Bath to win (with -16.5 handicap) - 5/6
Wasps Netball v Manchester Thunder - Having all but wrapped up their game with Severn Stars in the first quarter, Wasps shifted into cruise control as they racked up another impressive win. This Friday’s game could prove more of a challenge, however, as the Coventry outfit go head-to-head with last year’s beaten finalists, Manchester Thunder. Expect a tight affair which will see former Thunder star Natalie Haythornthwaite come up against a number of her former teammates.
- Top Tip: Wasps Netball to win - 1/7
Surrey Storm v Celtic Dragons - Surrey Storm may have collected all three points in their last outing, but the league leaders were certainly made to work hard thanks to a feisty display from Team Bath. The current Superleague leaders should face fewer problems this weekend as they take on a Celtic Dragons side who are yet to win this term. Things could get ugly for the away side if Storm hit top form.
- Top Tip: Surrey Storm to win (with -19.5 handicap) - 5/6
Hertfordshire Mavericks v Loughborough Lightning - The Mavericks may have reached last season’s semi-finals, but this year’s crop find themselves some way off the pace. The girls for Herefordshire may have picked up a vital victory in their last outing, but they were pushed all the way by a winless Celtic Dragons side. Lightning, on the other hand, have been in tremendous form this year, chalking up five wins from five as they aim to keep up with Surrey Storm at the Superleague summit. A Loughborough win looks a certainty if the home side can’t rediscover their magic touch.
- Top Tip: Loughborough Lightning to win - 1/12
Severn Stars v Sirens - Currently finding their feet in Superleague, both Severn Stars and Sirens have endured rough rides, picking up just three wins between them. Even at this early stage in the season, neither side look capable of challenging for a place in the top four, meaning this game could be more about pride than anything else. Nevertheless, this encounter could prove enthralling, especially if the leaks in both teams’ backlines can’t be plugged.
- Top Tip: Sirens to win - 1/5
