WWE Wrestlemania 34 Betting Preview

WWE Wrestlemania 34 is one of the most eagerly anticipated wrestling events in years, featuring Brock Lesnar taking on Roman Reigns, UFC star Ronda Rousey leaping into action for the first time since signing up permanently, and the prospect of John Cena facing down The Undertaker, if the rumours are to be believed.

Ahead of this weekend’s action at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, here’s Sports.net’s WWE Wrestlemania 34 betting preview.

Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

The thinking in the WWE world is that Brock Lesnar is on his way out. In real life he is yet to sign a new contract with the organisation and many think he wants to return to UFC. With that in mind, the natural conclusion to his beef with Roman Reigns is for the younger man to overcome his older foe and make way for, in Reigns’ words,”a new generation”.

However, Lesnar has form when it comes to running down his contract before reasserting his loyalty to the brand, having done so at Wrestlemania 31. With that in mind, 4/1 on a killer twist, with Lesnar foiling Reigns once again, is very tempting.

Rousey is the big new name in WWE and this mixed tag team event is likely to upstage the Lesnar/Reigns grudge match that many believed would headline the night. Having borrowed her nickname from Rowdy Roddy Piper (with permission), Rousey is a well known fan of wrestling and her full-time debut should be a cracker of an occasion.

Stephanie McMahon comes from a family steeped in WWE history but, as chief brand officer of the company, she knows better than most that a Rousey win makes complete sense in terms of pleasing the fans.

Ever the experts in whipping the crowd into a frenzy, the sheer lack of information from WWE on this most anticipated of clashes has piqued the interest of fans across the world. It isn’t even a certainty to go ahead, but all the evidence points to The Undertaker taking to the ring in his American Badass guise to take on fellow veteran John Cena.

Cena is, according to the storyline, attending Wrestlemania 34 as a fan, but after trolling The Undertaker so mercilessly in recent weeks, the stage is set for a confrontation, with a victory for the Deadman before he brings the curtain down finally on a 34-year wrestling career.
